Legend: The name is said to come from the fact that it was a traditional gift to the Mandarins of China. Mandarins probably originated in North East India, as early as 2000 BC. They arrived from China in 1805, being brought to England as specimen trees in 1805. Some children of these specimen trees were taken to Italy and grown (mandarin trees were being raised in Genoa in 1849), and from there spread throughout the Mediterranean.

Heal your body: Tonic to the digestion, increases appetite. Has a stimulating effect on the liver – helping to regulate metabolic processes and aid in the secretion of bile and breaking down fats. At the same time it is calming to the intestines. Its cheering action sometimes used to ease PMT. Has an enhanced effect when blended with other citrus oils. Good for congested, oily skin as well as acne. Combined with Neroli and Lavender to lessen stretch marks and scarring especially in teenagers who have grown quickly.
